Anna Larrabee

Anna Larrabee was born in Clermont, Iowa on March 9, 1869.

Anna was graduated from St Katherine Hall, Davenport Iowa and University of Iowa in Iowa City. She studied music in Chicago and New York (Julliard) - played the organ, violin, and piano. She taught voice and violin in Clermont and played the organ @ the Union Sunday School for 60+ years.

She had a chestnut Kentucky thoroughbred horse named "Lady." Anna frequently rode her until progress caught up to the area in the form of nearby highways. Lady was kept in a pasture away from the workhorses ("May" and "Lu"). She also had her own stall in the barn - May and Lu had to share theirs.

She ate a raw egg every morning. Anna Larrabee passed away in December of 1965 while living in Montauk. She was 96 at the time.
